That doesn't mean I don't have some questions about some of his marketing techniques, e.g. I'm in the translation team for this particular mod and the developer is a really, really friendly and dedicated guy and I believe he's truly creating this with the right intentions.
Nothing wrong with being sceptic and realistic about mods now and then! It is a shame that this is what The Sims 4's fandom has come to, haha.
I don't think he's wilfully avoiding criticism, I really think he isn't getting a lot of criticism, since people are just mindlessly fawning over the idea that this could be "what saves The Sims 4", so there's not a lot of criticism or scepticism for him to respond to. Hm, I agree with some things you said and with some I don't. Microsoft has stopped offering 32-bit Windows 10, and similarly Apple has also stopped offering OS that run 32-bit applications. On the note with TS4 dropping 32 bit support - I think it’s sort of just the standard these days. Obviously ymmv and people probably have made the games work with lower specs, and probably have run into issues with higher specs Considering the graphics requirements, the cards listed for both TS4 and Control are relatively old I think, in that if you wanted to track one down you’d have to find a third party seller. If I look at laptops with the recommended CPU for Control, that’s bumped up to about $500+, and this isn’t taking into account any of the specs for RAM, graphics, etc, which would bump it up more I would think.
